He knows there are no second chances. Despite his past, he believes that if only the girls played as one, anything would be possible Chak De India is the story of a coach's fight of making his team, Team India by overcoming their diverse backgrounds, by learning to use everything that life hurls on them as a secret weapon. It's a story about honesty, sincerity and integrity. A story to remind the nation of its National sport

This is Shimit Amin’s second film as a director. He was an editor based in Los Angeles, U.S.A, and was invited to Mumbai for a trip by a friend, who introduced him to Ram Gopal Varma. His impressive editing in Ram Gopal’s BHOOT (’03), was followed by a powerful directorial debut in the acclaimeed AB TAK CHHAPPAN (’04). Shahrukh knows Shimit from the time Shimit was a part of the ASOKA (’01) team.
Shahrukh Khan is a sports enthusiast, and has played different sports through his school and college days. He was the captain of his college’s hockey team. For his role in this film, Shahrukh grew a beard, since director Shimit Amin wanted him to look different from the usual look in his other films. Shahrukh says this worked for the character, but sporting a beard was uncomfortable, it would itch and he didn’t feel ‘clean’. He says he wouldn’t like to do it again!
